Unblur an Image Online Free

Worth knowing before you start: "unblurring" is not really reversible. Blur discards information, and no browser tool recovers what the sensor never recorded — anything promising otherwise is either upscaling with AI-invented detail or overstating what it does. What this tool does is genuine and often enough: it stretches the tonal range and applies an unsharp mask, which makes edges read as noticeably crisper. Mild softness, slight camera shake, and low-contrast shots improve a lot. Severe motion blur and badly missed focus will not, and it is better to know that in ten seconds than after ten tools.

How it works

  1. Upload your blurry or soft image (JPEG, PNG, WEBP, or TIFF).

  2. Sharpening and local contrast enhancement are applied to strengthen edge detail.

  3. Download the improved image with enhanced clarity.

Why use this tool

  • Works on phone photos of documents, screenshots, and scanned pages.

  • No software installation — runs directly in your browser.

  • Your images are processed privately and never stored.

  • Free to use with no account required.

If the result is not what you expected

It barely changed anything

The most likely reason is that the blur is beyond what sharpening addresses — heavy motion blur or significant defocus. If the subject is a document or screenshot rather than a scene, Fix Blurry Image Text is tuned specifically for text legibility and may serve you better.

The photo now looks harsh, crunchy, or over-sharpened

Sharpening applied to an image that was already reasonably crisp produces exactly that. It is a single fixed-strength pass with no intensity slider, so if the result is too aggressive for your image, this is not the right tool — a photo editor with an adjustable sharpening amount will give you finer control.

The image is small and pixelated rather than blurry

Those are different problems. Pixelation means too few pixels; sharpening will only make the blocks more defined. What you want is upscaling, which this tool does not do. If you simply need different dimensions from an image that already has enough detail, use Resize Image Online.

Colours shifted or the photo got darker

The tonal normalisation step stretches the histogram to use the full range, which can visibly change a photo that was deliberately low-contrast or softly lit. For images where the original mood matters, this tool is the wrong choice — it is built for legibility, not for preserving a look.
